Exercise Flashcards for Kids!

I wanted to get creative with my kids getting more exercise so I decided to make flashcards and have them pick one at a time.  I added some fun ones too so they didn't get bored and thought of the experience as more of a game than a workout.  Make sure you have some good tunes on as well to keep your kids moving and excited.  I recommend you also participate and be a good, active role model.


Here are some ideas of what you can write on each flashcard.  You should make around 30-50 exercise cards for the workout to be effective.
  • Run in place for 30 seconds
  • Jump rope for 30 seconds
  • 30 jumping jacks
  • 30 step ups
  • 5 pushups
  • 10 crunches
  • 20 skaters
  • 30 seconds high knees
  • 30 seconds wacky jacks
  • Pick a hard exercise for mom to do
  • 30 seconds crazy dance
  • 10 bicep curls with resistance band
  • 10 seated rows with resistance band
  • Drink water
  • Pick a silly exercise for your brother to do
  • 30 seconds plank
  • 10 tricep dips
  • 10 lateral raises with resistance band
  • 15 leg lifts on each side
  • 30 seconds mountain climbers
  • 10 supermans
  • 10 spidermans
  • 10 burpees
  • 10 jumps and pretend to shoot a basket
  • 10 squats
  • 30 second wall sit
  • Skip for 30 seconds
  • 10 plie squats
  • 15 calf raises
  • 30 seconds maniac
